Mr Harinder Singh Sikka graduated from Delhi University in 1979. He joined the Indian Navy the same year, was commissioned in January 1981 and took premature retirement from Indian Navy in the year 1993 as Lt. Commander. Since 1994, he has been working with the Piramal Group in various capacities. At present, he is Group Director-Strategic Business of Piramal Enterprises Limited. Mr Sikka has been felicitated by the Global Anti-Counterfeiting Group, Paris, for his campaign against spurious drugs. He has also been conferred with ‘The Indira Super Achiever Award’ and many other similar recognitions. He is a prolific writer with several articles and few books, including ‘Calling Sehmat’ and ‘Vichhoda’ to his name. ‘Calling Sehmat’, besides being a best seller book, also became a blockbuster Bollywood film titled ‘Raazi’. He also produced a film titled ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’, which was applauded at International Film Festivals at Cannes (May 2014), Toronto (September 2014) and Los Angeles (November 2014). It won three National Awards, namely: a) Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration. b) Best film for Makeup. c) Best film for Costumes. He has addressed more than ten thousand students across Schools & Colleges on his writing and experiences.
